H2LiftShip series REVIEW! #1282 – gluedtobook

“This book had an astonishing plot, amazing execution of that plot, great composition to rejuvenate it, and all-around fabricated characters to unite everything. The book makes a distinctive picture of what investigating life past Earth is like, particularly when on board a spaceship where one slip or blunder can mean destruction and unavoidable passing. The completion was stunning and invigorating.

The series is a must-read for anyone looking for a unique and captivating story that blends science fiction and humor in a refreshing way. The books are well-researched and full of fascinating details, making them a great choice for readers who enjoy learning about science and technology. Overall, the H2LiftShips series is a fantastic addition to the science fiction genre, offering a fresh and exciting take on space exploration that is sure to captivate readers of all ages.”

To start this off with my favorite trait about this sci-fi series is the two main characters which are 1- a talking Australian shepherd and 2-a talking simian with a gambling problem, its a trip (pun intended cause, you know the book is about a road trip sailing through the solar system…anyways!)

The writing showcased an amazing level of detail and imagination, thus providing a seamless and lucid narrative that was easy to digest, plus a great sense of humor. Reading this felt like watching those 2000s blurry TV shows that make you laugh due to the corniest jokes ever, and I mean that in the best way possible! The pace of the story was generally well maintained, and I felt like through the amount of detail the author has showcased, you can tell that they are very passionate and accurate about this which made me feel like I was in the book itself.

However, it’s worth mentioning that, at certain points, there was a subtle slowing down or stretching of the description. This doesn’t specifically detract from the overall experience but I could feel myself drifting off at some certain points.

Despite that, the reading experience is overall enjoyable and very humorous, this genre and theme are something I haven’t gotten used to and was very unique, which is what I was needing right now as a break from my usual go-to.

One of the things I enjoyed the most was the touch of science subtly woven into details about the ship, the journey, and whenever they would land in a new atmosphere, plus the fact that we get to see the earth from a creative POV, the science fiction genre always manages to change up the science and laws of the earth which is always so cool to see from different author perspectives.

I have really enjoyed reading the H2LiftShips series!

In the H2LiftShip series, you can follow Garciela as she leaves her family for the Luna Academy and Captain Bars. In the story, commerce drives the greater heliosphere, with merchants, gamblers, pirates, and workologists all doing their part. Be on the lookout for the angry AI computer tablets and their algal rocket ships, as they ultimately can lead to an all-out HiveWar. The series strongly emphasizes science and humor, as well as great characters overcoming obstacles and passive-aggressive families.

📚 Beyond Luna by Bob Freeman 📚

H2LiftShips is a futuristic tech guide portraying a world much like ours, blending road-trips with solar sailing, featuring elements such as food, gambling, jail, and pirates – not necessarily in that sequence. This world excludes aliens, monsters, blasters, pyrotechnic computers, or Anti-Grav powered rockets. Instead, expect lasers, primates, canines, octopus, space travel via solar sails, and the occasional rocket ship. Violence is limited to spinning meat bolas and asteroid pebbles defending their home rocks.

I went in expecting something Star Wars-ish but came out with something even better.

This is my favourite genre, comedy in space and Bob Freeman has a way with humor that's refreshing and enjoyable. I absolutely loved the LunaCola crew who oddly enough reminded me of that Lego Star Wars series (idk why). Heavy vibes!

There's everything space related in these books and that's my favourite. There's science and pseudo-science balanced to bring about the BEST possible feeling when you read. The books are so chaotic and fun it's unbelievable. The H2Liftship series has quite the potential you see, and like I love books like these.

Beyond Luna is my favourite because that's where everything starts and it's what got me into reading further. The characters are fun and....diverse in a way. There's no romance and in Bob Freeman's own words, the target audience for these books are nerdy kids who love space and science.

I'm a needy kid who loves space and science.

Boson's Wave 1 & 2 were fast reads that I finished very quickly. It was just as fun and Backstory is just that, a prequel lol.

So all in all a fun, exciting read for all scifi lovers!

H2Liftships By Bob Freeman

H2 Lift Ships transcend spaceships and adventures; this is not your typical science fiction. The book is less fiction and more on the elements of science. You can read about the elements of water and hydrogen here, as well as how spacecraft and the space environment operate and what life in space would be like in the future. There is so much more to this series than just space combat!

Four books make up the series: Beyond Luna, The Backstory, Bosons Wave I, and Bosons Wave II.

The narrative begins by speculating on how and why humans might have traveled into space. Further information is provided on the spacecraft LunaCola, a few species that travel there, live there, explore the other world, including a human and a few animals that have undergone genetic modification.

The backstories of the characters we encountered in the first section are covered in The Backstory. It tells their tales —hardworking humans, dogs, simians, and octopuses—and what shaped them. The stories that show us how a person's circumstances mold them are both inspiring and gripping. It's interesting to see the adventures they took, the issues they encounter in the heliosphere and beyond, and the approaches they develop. Here are two new ingredients: Heliotail and Biogel, which aren't mentioned in the review to prevent spoilers.

If you're thinking it's simply dry space physics, I have to warn you that there are also amusing character asides and banters. There are parties and casinos, pirates, and fun to be had.

All things considered, this series is a great read for anyone looking to get deeper into science fiction, explore more in the genre, or just be a bit of a nerd with a strong inclination towards space science and astrophysics (like myself).

This series is wild! I absolutely enjoyed every single second of reading it. It's filled with adventures. Characters are amazing and witty. Plot is well though out and perfectly executed. This series has four book, but I like to think of it as one big book. I mean, I did read all these books back to back, just like it was one book, because it's so addictive and I couldn't stop myself from reading it every moment I had a chance to read it. And the second I finished one I went on the next one right away. I had so much fun reading it. It was everything I expected and more. It's so unusual and unpredictable and all in a good way. I wish the books were longer, but that is my preference and I acknowledge that I am a bit obsessed with big books and wish that all books were longer and bigger. But, since these books are average length, and they read quickly, I look forward to rereading them in future and going on this adventure again.

Review of the H2LiftShip Series (4 volumes, 1100 pages) of SciFi FUN!

Amazon Link Here: 5.0 out of 5 stars the most unique and weirdest book series out there

Reviewed in Germany on 23 January 2024

Although it’s January and the beginning of the year, I think it’s fairly safe to say that I've found the most unique and weirdest book series out there.

Everyone has read some sci-fi, everyone has seen at least one space opera book or TV show. You kind of think you know what to expect, right? If you're told that this is a sci-fi-themed book, you think you kind of know what the writing's going to be like, right? Haha, no, wrong!

You think you know how books are usually written, right? Like, how the plot and story are going to unfold, right? Yes, you have read a zillion books and you think you've seen it all, and rightly so, right? Haha, no, wrong again!

Enter Bob. Bob Freeman. This weirdo has written a book that's a book but isn’t a book, that's a book series but isn’t a book series, he has written *something* that's… I’m not sure if there's a genre for it. How do you label a book that’s written as an… instruction manual?

Me? Read it. Was surprised. Took a break. Read book 2. Took a break. Read book 3. Took a break. Read book 4. Now? I’m still surprised. I’m feeling seriously entertained now when I’m thinking about how to describe it. I feel like this dude wrote a book that made himself cackle and giggle and laugh out loud. It feels like he wrote a book that he wished he could read. I feel like he wrote this book series because this was exactly what he felt the world was missing. After all, it was something he himself wanted to read but couldn’t find. Am I right? I've no clue. But he's done it, the books are there, he's written them and they're strangely unique and unique fun.

The language is quirky, it's spicy, but the spice isn’t your traditional one – it’s sciency/made up sciency spicy, and it most definitely blurs all the lines of what sci-fi should be. Does it make sense? I’m not sure. But it’s weird and I’m here for it.

You most definitely have to have this weird and weirdly spicy sense of humor to enjoy it, and you need to have a lot of geeky, nerdy, and sciency genes in you.

If you ever start feeling like you've read it all, or if you meet someone who says they've read it all – nope, they haven’t, unless they've read at least one of those books. Seriously. If you read those, then you may proclaim to be certified in having read it all. Maybe. Maybe not. See for yourself.

H2LiftShips – BosonsWave^2: Solar Sails – Squared by Bob Freeman – Alextheshadowgirl's Blog (wordpress.com)

Have you ever thought about what the world is like beyond your own? What goes on in the space, and what life is like in the vastness? Well, you don’t have to wonder any further. Bob Freeman has done it again with his latest volume of H2LiftShips – BosonsWave2. He has breathed life into another fantabulous space adventure that takes your imagination to a new realm.

“BosonsWave^2 – Solar Sails Squared” is Bob Freeman’s fourth volume in the H2LiftShips series. It follows the crew of BosonsWave^2, a group of extraordinary misfits, as they face challenges, encounter allies and enemies, and navigate space travel. After crash-landing on Luna, they must repair their ship and continue their journey while dealing with aliens with hidden motives. They encounter pirates, discover an alien artefact, and confront a deadly solar storm. The crew must learn to trust each other and work together to survive and accomplish their mission. The book is part of a science fiction series that explores space travel and the difficulties of living in harsh environments.

One of my favourite books in space travel has always remained “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. That was way back in my childhood. Since then, I have struggled to find a book that entertaining and imaginative until I came across the H2LiftShip series. I have been following this series since the beginning. I am amazed at how Bob Freeman has only made the story more spectacular and grand with each new installation.

The story is a perfect blend of humour, adventure, drama, sci-fi and action. It is a masterclass for budding authors and a delight for readers who are bored of the same old conventional and predictable plots. Every sentence is unique and it feels like you’re reading an epic rap song with witty writing. This book will definitely make you have multiple outbursts of laughter and awe. My favourite part of the book is the exploration of the family dynamics of Captain Graciela and her parents. It was heart-warming and filled me with a sense of pride. The outstanding nature of the storytelling will make you feel that you are too part of the family.

This is a book that is suitable for every age group. Whether you are a child, teenager or a grownup, this novel won’t fail to touch your heart. If you’re a parent looking for the perfect story to ignite the love of reading in your munchkin(s), you know what to get them for their next present!

To get a greater sense of the story and enjoyment, I will suggest you start this series from the first book, which will suck you right into the author’s vivid imagination. But if you find it hard to give time to all four books, “BosonsWave^2” also works well as a standalone book. This is one of those books that stays with you for quite a long time. Get H2LiftShips – BosonsWave^2: Solar Sails – Squared by Bob Freeman right away!
